Placing a Request
You can request items yourself
either in the library or at home, via the computer
catalog, whether the item is owned by the Matteson Public Library or by another
library in the system.
If you cannot locate the item in the computer catalog,
please contact our Reference Desk at (708) 748-4431 ext 12. We will try to request the
item from a library outside of lthe SWAN library system.
You will be notified when your reserve item becomes
available.
How to request an item
via the computer catalog
Search the computer catalog for your item.
When you are in the screen listing title and call number, click the <Request>
button.
Enter the information required: name, barcode (library card number) and PIN. (If
you have not already established a PIN,click here for
instructions.)
Click <Submit Above Information>
The computer will confirm the request.
You will be notified when the item arrives. Important - The item
will arrive at the home library of the cardholder.
Some items do not circulate and requests may not be placed for them. Contact staff
members for assistance. Alternative ways of obtaining the material may be available.

To Request
Multiple Items from the Computer Catalog
From the SWAN catalog, select Check Your Record.
Log in with your name, library card number, and PIN.
Select Display record for person named above.
When your name appears, select the Search the Catalog bar at the right
of the screen.
Search the catalog as normal.
For each item youd like to reserve, select the Request button. Note:
You no longer have to enter in your personal information each time you would like to
request an item.
If you would like to place more reserves, select Regular Display.
When you're finished using the computer catalog, select Return to Main
Menu, and you're now logged out.
If you decide not to place any requests, choose the Log Out button at
the top or bottom of the screen.
